On August 12, 1961, a wall was erected down the middle of the city of Berlin.
The world was divided by a cold war.
And the Berlin Wall was the most hated symbol of that divide. Reviled. Graffitied. Spit upon.
We thought the wall would stand forever, and now that it's gone, we don't know who we are anymore.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Hedwig is like that wall, standing before you
in the divide between East and West, Slavery and Freedom, Man and Woman, Top and Bottom.
And you can try to tear her down, but before you do,

02. Origin Of Love -
두 남자가 붙어있는 해의 아이들, 두 여자가 붙어있는 땅의 아이들,
남녀가 함께있는 달의 아이들. 그들이 서로 고통스런 Making Love를 시작하게 된 기원 이야기.

So we wrapped our arms around each other, Trying to shove ourselves back together.
We was making love, Making love.

03. Angry Inch -
실패한 엉터리 성전환 수술. 1인치만 남아 남자도 여자도 아니게 된 한셀.
하지만 미국행을 열망하던 한셀은 자신의 자유를 위한 희생으로 여긴다. Sugar Daddy 루터와 함께.
Six inches forward and five inches back. I got a, I got an angry inch.

04. Wicked Little Town (Tommy Gnosis Version) -
얄궂은 토미 그노시스의 Reprise.
헤드윅에 대한 동경, 그리고 헤드윅에게 함께 Wicked Little Town을 벗어나자고 외친다.
하지만, 먼저 헤드윅을 떠난주제에 정말 함께 떠나진 못했나보다.
결국 헤드윅은 Midnight Radio와 함께 '한셀 그노시스(순전히 내멋대로 붙인..)'가 되어 돌아온다.
You think that luck has left you there. But maybe there's nothing up in the sky but air.

05. Wig In A Box -
경쾌하지만 경쾌하지 않다.
루터는 도망가고, 베를린 장벽은 무너지고, 트레일러에 홀로 남겨졌다.
비참한 현실이지만 그런 자신마저 밝은 모습으로 받아들인다.
메이크업을 하고, 8번째 트랙을 튼채로,
선반위의 박스에서 가발을 꺼내어 자신의 머리 위에 올린다.
가발을 쓸때마다 미인대회 여왕이 되었다가도, 미녀삼총사의 Farrah Fawcett이 되기도 한다.
다시 슬픈 현실로 돌아오기도 하지만
펑크 락스타가 되고싶은 헤드윅은 다신 돌아오지 않으리라 다짐한다. (역시나 제멋대로 해석..)
I put on some make-up, turn up the eight-track. I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf.

06. The Long Grift -
또 아버지한테 혼나고 찌질하게 헤드윅한테 달려온 토미.
헤드윅은 옆집에서 3일간 무한반복되던 웬다이아(I will always love you)에 질려있던 참에
토미를 달랠 겸 신곡 연습이나 하자고 한다.
영화에서는 이 때 단 한소절 등장. 절묘한 제목명.
이날 이후 헤드윅을 떠난 찌질 토미 그노시스.
